Mold Testing

Mold Inspection Sciences of Boulder provides professional mold testing, mold inspection, and mold detection services.  We also provide mold remediation support services (scopes of work and post remediation inspection and testing).  Our company does not perform mold remediation or removal or construction services.  Thus, there are no conflicts of interest to our valued clients.

Mold Testing Services

Professional mold testing services include: airborne mold spore quantification (what you are breathing), type of mold growth, and existence of indoor mold growth.

Specific laboratory mold testing that we recommend (not all types are recommended for each project):

• Ambient air samples – (mold spore concentrations in the air that you breathe),
• Wall cavity air samples – (mold spore concentrations inside of a ceiling or wall cavity),
• Direct (surface) samples (swabs, pieces of bulk material such as drywall, tape lift)

Our mold samples are delivered, via a completed chain of custody, to EMLab P&K for fungal analysis.  Client’s are delivered a completed, easy to understand, professional lab report that adheres to industry wide standards.

Mold Investigation (Inspection and Detection) Services

• Detailed, step-by-step, investigation of your own home, school, business, or rental property carefully designed to identify water intrusion sources and to detect indoor mold growth,
• A vividly colored, mold inspection report that includes our findings, conclusions, and professional recommendations.
• We utilize expensive moisture detection instruments, digital hygrometers, and Zefon BioPumps and Zefon Air-O-Cells (for airborne mold samples)

Mold Remediation and Removal: Scopes of Work and Post Testing Services

• If our mold inspection and mold testing of your building uncovers a mold problem that requires professional mold remediation, we will write a “scope of work” as part of your report that outlines the steps for cleaning and removal.  This document can be provided to mold remediation companies that specialize in mold remediation and abatement services.
• Once the mold has been remediated and all water sources are repaired, Mold Inspection Sciences will perform post remediation testing and inspection to ensure that:
• All mold remediation containment chambers are properly constructed and clean of all dust and debris,
• All previous mold growth is cleaned and/or removed,
• All materials (drywall, flooring, studs, etc.) are dry,
• All known sources of water intrusion are repaired, and
• Ambient containment air samples and certain cross contamination samples collected meet or exceed industry accepted standards for mold remediation clearance.
